First Japanese Doctor to Launch Interactive iPhone Application: Akira Hayasaka M.D.

Chiba, Japan, April 4th, 2011 -- Despite the recent catastrophe in Japan, there are still those who are looking to make a difference. One of those individuals is Dr. Hayasaka, who has launched the first medical iPhone application in Japan. This application will help Hayasaka keep in contact with his patients and colleagues, making himself available at anytime for health related inquiries.
During the current disaster in Japan, Dr. Hayasaka feels that “even though we are having a big and sad disaster, I will never give up on helping people whom I can assist and encourage.”  The launch of this application will only further Dr. Hayasaka’s efforts in providing faster paced medical assistance to those in need.

Dr. Hayasaka has over thirty years of experience in the medical field. He is a Board Certified Hepatologist of the Japan Society of Hepatology, a Board Certified Gastroenterologist in Japan, Board Certified Member of the Japanese Society of Internal Medicine and former Clinical associated professor of medicine at Chiba University School of Medicine.
His main medical focuses include liver disease, gastrointestinal disease, and obesity. Dr. Hayasaka graduated Chiba University School of Medicine with high honors.

Dr. Hayasaka is the first and only Japanese doctor to obtain a personalized iPhone application and one of the first worldwide. With the launch of this free application, he embraces both Japanese and American audiences through five bilingual features such as his YouTube channel, blog, and twitter. Additional interactive feathers include, “Ask Dr. Hayasaka” and a quiz that tests your liver knowledge.

The first feature allows users to get to know Dr. Hayasaka personally by watching his YouTube videos or reading his bio. The application also provides blog and Twitter updates with daily health advice, along with his opinions on medical advances.

The last feature allows users to email Dr. Hayasaka regarding any health related questions. Following the email is an engaging quiz that tests your biology knowledge on a range of various liver related questions.

Dr. Hayasaka utilizes many other social media platforms such as Facebook, LinkedIn, a Google Profile and Mixi. Such platforms give Hayasaka a unique advantage in remaining in close contact with friends, family, and colleagues, all the while being in the palm of every patient’s hand. Further information about his work in Japan can be found on his website.
