Deal Lets Health Systems Enhance Care Coordination, Achieve High Levels of Compliance

TORONTO – Dec. 17, 2012 – Diversinet Corp. (TSX Venture: DIV, OTCQB: DVNTF), a leader in secure mobile health that “Powers Care Coordination through Mobility,” today announced it has signed a licensing agreement with AirStrip Technologies, Inc., for the use of its patented mobiSecure® SDK to power ultra-secure messaging in AirStrip’s industry leading mHealth application suite.

The newly formalized agreement enables AirStrip customers in the military, government and commercial sectors to comply with rigorous federal security requirements. Diversinet’s encryption technology recently was validated under Federal Information Processing Standards (FIPS) 140-2.

The mobiSecure SDK makes it easy for healthcare organizations to develop HIPAA-compliant solutions with military-grade security for all consumer smartphones, tablets, and other mobile devices. In addition to the FIPS 140-2 validation, recent enhancements to the SDK improve the speed of deployment for enterprise-wide mobile health solutions.

Qualcomm invests in AirStrip Technologies

AirStrip Technologies Announces Investment from Qualcomm

SAN ANTONIO--(BUSINESS WIRE)--AirStrip Technologies, Inc. announced that it has received a strategic investment from Qualcomm Incorporated, acting through its Qualcomm Life Fund. Qualcomm invests in emerging technologies and business models that further accelerate the wireless market. Terms of the investment were not disclosed.

We are pleased to announce this investment by the Qualcomm Life Fund, which acknowledges the game-changing potential presented by the AirStrip platform.”

The Qualcomm Life Fund, an investment allocation of Qualcomm that is managed by Qualcomm Ventures, Qualcomm’s investment group, focuses on investments in venture-backed wireless health companies and start-ups that will help accelerate commercialization of wireless health technologies, such as the Qualcomm Life 2netTM Platform. Areas of specific interest range from personal wellness to disease management.

Improving Patient Safety through Remote Monitoring #mHealth

Today is the last day of the 2nd International mHealth Networking Conference. As a physician champion for the HCPLive Network, I'm excited to blog about some of the highlights from this meeting. You can also follow updates about the mHealth Networking Conference on HCPLive.com.

I attended a session titled, "Improving Patient Safety through Remote Monitoring." The presenter was Layne Haney, Senior VP of AirStrip Technologies. Physicians want real time and history remote access to critical patient data on their mobile devices. This is especially true in the intensive care and critical care setting where clinicians want to see the waveforms, EKGs, alerts/alarms, etc.

iPhone Application for OB/GYN


If you're on your OB/GYN rotation and you have an iPhone, then you should take a look at this application if your hospital has the Airstrip application. AirStrip Technologies has developed an iPhone application called AirStrip OB. Looks like a great application for those sleepless nights on the OB floor.
